A Fine Line Albany Public Library, Albany, NY May 9 - September 7, 2013
The underlying theme for A Fine Line was a consideration of the framework of a library itself. A library is easily understood as an institution built on order – take the cataloging system or the shelving of books for example. However, it is also a place of disorder when one considers the wide range of activities and interests that draw patrons through the doors. The exhibition included artwork by five artists: Gabe Brown, Mariah Doren and Johannah Paas, Richard Garrison, and Melinda R. McDaniel that deals with interactions between order and irregularity.
A Fine Line was the inaugural exhibition at the Albany Public Library, Albany, New York. It began a bi-annual exhibition program developed to increase exposure to contemporary art within the community while building the cultural vitality of the Capital Region.
